TiVo Targets The Carmel Group For Critical Data: Consultancy Helps Identify Damages in Case vs. Echo
April 13, 2006 (Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA) – Following the announcement by digital video recorder (DVR) pioneer TiVo today, that is had received a $72+ mil. verdict from the jury in its Texas-based trial against satellite TV provider EchoStar, The Carmel Group was granted permission to publicly announce that its services had been relied upon by the attorneys representing TiVo in their efforts to identify a proper damages sum for the jury. This authorization was granted because The Carmel Group was mentioned in open court, in explanations to the jury, during the testimony involving damages. (Normally the involvement of a company such as The Carmel Group in a case such as this would not be the subject of public knowledge because of confidentiality concerns, which The Carmel Group is patrticularly mindful of.)
